Perspective

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. It is the process of acquiring the body of knowledge and skills that people are expected to have in our society. A good education develops a critical thought process in addition to learning accepted facts. It also encourages intellectual curiosity, which will lead to lifelong learning. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life.

The purpose of education is to develop students' desire and ability to think and learn about the world around them. Further, the purpose is to learn how to develop relationships that will enable students to work with their peers, throughout their educational career and beyond. It is necessary to open up the mind of students and prepare them to face the world rather than thinking education as getting a degree from a reputed university/professional institute and landing on a high paying job.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

The students generally go for higher education after completing the formal academic courses in order to pursue their professional career. They take up professional education for this purpose. Professional education provides them the edge, perfection and required expertise through extensive knowledge and practical guides. However, their professional education and career cannot be effective and successful to the desired level without giving due regard to the formal basic education. It is because of the fact that we consider the basic education as the foundation of a student’s knowledge and wisdom, and the professional education as the pillar erected on that foundation. Therefore, the formal basic education has to be strong enough to hold a firm grip on the professional education as the pillar.

THE DIRECTORATE OF STUDIES

CMA Course Curriculum is designed to nurture young business leaders of tomorrow who can convert the dream of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ into reality by taking strategic management decisions effectively in both the National and International arena.

SYLLABUS 2016

The Syllabus 2016 is based on International Standards set by IFAC (International Federation of Accountants) and IAESB (International Accounting Education Standards Board) and Initial Professional Development - Professional Skills (Revised) through IEG (International Educational Guidelines):

  • To create awareness and promote cost & management accounting education
  • To achieve six skill sets - knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation
  • Based on four knowledge pillars - management, strategy, regulatory framework and financial reporting
  • To inculcate skills for employability
  • Increased emphasis on Accounting, Analysis, Reporting & Control, Strategy, Performance Measurement, Analysis, Reporting, Corporate & Allied Laws, Taxation, Ethics and Governance
  • To extend all possible professional expertise to ensure transparency and governance as desired by the government
  • To enhance competency level of cost and management accounting professionals at par with international level

FUNCTIONS AS PER INSTITUTE REGULATIONS

The Training and Educational Facilities Committee shall perform the following functions:

  1. Registration of students
  2. Maintenance of the Register of students and such other registers as may be prescribed
  3. Provision of proper facilities to Registered Students to obtain coaching in the subjects in which they are to be examined by the Council
  4. Arrangements for the training of candidates sent by any Department of the Central or any State Government, Chamber of Commerce or any other public or private organization and to do all things in connection therewith
  5. Purchase of books, magazines, equipments and the like for the Library and arranging for its proper running and maintenance
  6. Suggesting to the Council from time to time modifications to the existing syllabi for the qualifying examinations of the Institute and recommending suitable books for the guidance of candidates
