Greetings from the Institute!
As an active body and regular involvement of the Institute in the Government and Ministry exercises, it is hereby to bring to your kind knowledge that Directorate of Enforcement invited a meeting on subgroup for Cost Accountants/Lawyers/ CAs/ CSs sector to discuss way forward for concern related to National Risk Assessment.
Meetings were attended with officials of Enforcement Directorate, New Delhi with an objective to discuss way forward for gathering information, data, statistics surveys & interviews for Risk Assessment of Accountants/ Auditors etc.
Such exercise is to be conducted with a vision to develop a mechanism, giving a framework to trace the activities which are considered to be a reason for black money generation, money laundering and terrorist financing. Example of such activities are businesses/Professions like Real Estate, dealing in precious metals and stones, dealing in securities, Casinos etc..
Professional Institutes like ours play a significant role in framing and developing the Comprehensiveness of Anti Money Laundering tool. By expert knowledge of CMA members and valuable feedback to the questionnaire such tool can be developed, enabling to trace origin of money laundering, black money & terrorist financing.
On behalf of the Institute, Professional Development Directorate is taking the responsibility to execute such exercise, and coming forward to take support from their members in delivering the desired work.
The information received on the basis of the exercise mentioned will help the Enforcement Directorate to formulate laws, guidelines for reducing the vulnerability of Money Laundering.
