The ESG ecosystem refers to the interconnected network of stakeholders, including companies, investors, regulators, government, and civil society organizations, that play critical roles in promoting and implementing sustainable practices.

60th National Cost Convention 2022

May 2022, Lucknow

The 60th National Cost Convention (NCC) in 2022, organized by the CMA Fraternity, was held in Lucknow on May 27th and 28th with the theme "Self-Reliance through Enlightenment." Yogi Adityanath, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, served as the Chief Guest and emphasized the importance of self-reliance, encompassing economic and cultural aspects, as well as spiritual and religious values. He encouraged CMA professionals to contribute to making India and Uttar Pradesh cost-competitive, attracting global investments, generating employment, and boosting GDP growth.

The inaugural session featured Shri Durga Shankar Misra, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Prof. Sanjay Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, as Special Guests.

Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna, Hon’ble Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs of Uttar Pradesh, was the Guest of Honour during a technical session, where an MOU was signed with the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM).

Shri Brajesh Pathak, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, served as the Chief Guest during the 63rd Foundation Day Celebrations of the Institute, where various agreements, including MOUs with World Trade Centers, were signed.

59th National Cost Convention 2019

January 2019, Pune

The 59th National Cost Convention (NCC) in 2019 took place in Pune, marking the Platinum Jubilee Year of the CMA Institute. The convention was held on January 20th and 21st at Hotel JW Marriott and had the theme "Cost & Management Accountants - Power of the Past – Force of the Future."

Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of Force Motors Limited, inaugurated the 59th NCC as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Deepak Tilak was the Guest of Honour for the inaugural session. Dr. Abhay Firodia emphasized the importance of CMAs in India, comparing them to icebergs with hidden depths of knowledge in analyzing and evaluating businesses. He urged the Institute to conduct industry-wise comparative cost analysis to identify areas where Indian costs could be reduced to international levels, enabling CMAs to rise as Cost Consultants.

A video message from Shri Suresh Prabhu, the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, was played during the inaugural session, conveying his message to the delegates and CMA professionals.

58th National Cost Convention 2018

March 2018, Delhi

The 58th National Cost Convention (NCC) in 2018, held in Delhi, was organized by the CMA Fraternity. The event took place on March 16th and 17th at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and marked the Platinum Jubilee Year of the Institute. The convention revolved around the theme "New India 2022: Role of CMAs from Intent to Action" and was inaugurated by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Hon'ble Vice President of India. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu emphasized the importance of CMAs in contributing to the vision of a "New India 2022."

Shri Suresh Prabhu, the Hon'ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, highlighted the need for cost-effective business models and the role of CMAs in ensuring cost competitiveness.

Shri Piyush Goyal, the Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways and Coal, stressed the role of cost accountants in making India cost-competitive in doing business and combating corruption.

Shri P.P. Chaudhary, the Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Law & Justice, emphasized that the Vision New India 2022 is a transformative mission that involves all citizens and highlighted the pivotal role of Cost Accountants in achieving it. He also announced a change in the name of the Institute from ICMAI to ICMAI.

Shri Injeti Srinivas, IAS, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, acknowledged the significant responsibilities of Cost Accountants in turning intent into reality and action.
