The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has constituted the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) vide notification no. S.O. 1932(E) dated 01.06.2016 and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) vide notification no. S.O. 1933(E) dated 01.06.2016 with effect from 1st June, 2016. Further, the MCA vide notification no. S.O. 1934(E) dated 01.06.2016 has notified the sections relating to the Companies Act, 2013 effective from June 01, 2016.
The MCA vide notification no S.O.1936(E) dated 01.06.2016 has appoint the date 01.06.2016 on which all matter or proceedings or cases pending before the Company Law Board will be transferred to National Company Law Tribunal. The NCLT rules will be notified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in due course.
Hon’ble Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya, Judge (Retd.), Supreme Court of India joined as the Chairman of the NCLAT and Hon’ble Justice M.M. Kumar, Judge (Retd.), Chief Justice, J&K High Court has joined as the President of NCLT.
With the constitution of the NCLT, the Company Law Board constituted under the Companies Act, 1956 stands dissolved.
In order to encourage members for exploring opportunities in various provisions of Companies Act 2013 and providing capacity building to tap such unexplored areas, the Institute has already organized programs on NCLT and its allied provisions at various locations across country.
For entering in the field of NCLT/NCLAT, it would be desirable to enhance your skill set in field of Companies Act, 2013. The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is conducting a series of workshops during the upcoming month on Sunday, 03rd, 10th, 17th & 24th July, 2016 on NCLT and NCLAT along with other provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 including Case Laws Digest.
We request all the aspirant members to come forward to participate in the workshop for enhancing their skill sets in the field of Companies Act, 2013.
