The Institute of Cost Accountants of India Baroda Chapter

he Institute recognized Ahmedabad – Baroda Chapter of Cost Accountants as a first chapter in Gujarat in 1965. It was a joint chapter between Ahmedabad and Baroda City. In 1968 Baroda was awarded an independent status and separate chapter known as “Baroda Chapter of Cost Accountants”. Initially the chapter office was run from the residence of a senior Cost Accountant. Later the office was shifted to M.C. High School, Salatwada, and the coaching classes for the intermediate students were started.

The Chapter had to shift its office and coaching classes from place to place till it established its own premises at Second floor, Sharda Apartment, Mama’s Pole, Kothi Char Rasta, in 1986. . Later on in the year 2000, the Chapter bought its new premises at 2nd and 5th Floor, Phoenix Complex, Sayajgunj. Presently Chapter is running its classes at this premise – I think 5th floor was bought earlier, around 1997 or 1998 and 2nd floor much later in 2007 or 2008.

Baroda Chapter since inception remained professional in its approach towards study and imparting professional inputs to its members. The Chapter has conducted so far more than 100 seminars, conferences and talks over and above continuously running the classes for intermediate and final students of the Institute. In 1987 and 2004 chapter organized Regional Cost Conference for the benefit of the professionals. Further in the year 1993 it also hosted National Cost Conference. In the year 2018 chapter was honored to host for the first time the “National CMA Practitioners Convention”. Chapter was awarded “The Best Chapter Award “for more than 4 times from the Institute. During the period of about 50 years (from 1968 to 2018) chapter has increased its activities by Leaps & Bounds and have imparted coaching to more than 10000 students in the region.
